Mark Burnett has yet another reality show in the works. The upcoming singing competition called The Voice is coming to NBC. Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and Cee Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley and independent fame will be the judges, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Christina Aguilera has also been negotiating with the crew to be another judge. We'll see how long she can keep herself from hitting the bottle a little too hard again. Is anyone taking bets?
The Voice, which will make its two-hour debut on Tuesday, April 26 at 9 p.m., is expected to provide some healthy competition for American Idol. What will likely intrigue viewers is that the judges face the opposite direction of the singers so as not to be biased by the singers' hot or not appearance. Hence, the judges make their decision based solely on vocal talent.
Frankly I think that it's about time for Idol
to get off the air anyway. After all, with so many seasons in the books, American Idol
has seen better days.
