Arty Girl: Art Detour Application Now Available
Thanks to Artlink, these people gear up to do some serious art lookin'.
Alright, you artists, gallery owners, and any other creative types who want to be featured in the Art Detour 22 brochure, you have your deadline for application.
February 11, 2010
And you can find the application here.
It's amazing to think that the two-day, self-guided tour of our arts district is on year 22. The tradition began in 1988 and had just a handful of galleries and studio spaces that opened their doors for the public to explore. Now the Phoenix tradition brings in close to 10,000 participants.
That's a crap-ton of people.
To make the event accessible, galleries and studio artists need to get on the ball and apply to Artlink (the non-profit organization responsible for First Friday and Art Detour). The submission of application and participation fees lands a listing with description and location details in the brochure.
And especially for you studio-less, gallery-less individual artists who want to be featured in the "Mystery Gallery" section, you better get on it quick. There are only 20 spots and it's on a first-come, first served basis.
