This morning I woke up thinking "Hmmm, I'm pretty much done compiling my list of the top ten local releases of the year, I should write that column soon," when I got an unexpected e-mail that threw the whole operation to disarray.
That's right, The Loveblisters record, The Nowhere West
is done. And not just done, but available for free download (for a limited time) here
. Us New Times
music critic types have had a long standing love affair
with this band, who puts on one of the best shows you'll ever see in the Valley, and their record has been a long time coming. I enjoyed what I heard, but look for a full review in the near future.
The 'Blisters also recently won a big contest put on by Boru Vodka, and is having a free acoustic show this Friday at Last Exit (Southern and Priest) to celebrate. --Martin Cizmar
