Santa, forgive us for saying this, but screw Christmas. In our opinion, Halloween is the most wonderful time of the year. And since the haunted holiday is just around the corner, there's gonna be plenty of scary soirees that we're going to be hanging out at over the next few weeks. First up on our agenda: Diablo II. Though it may sound like some sort of slasher flick, the demonic-sounding dance affair is an all-night rave taking place on Saturday, October 11, at the Icehouse, 429 West Jackson Street. Nightcrawlers and other creatures of the evening will be dancing until dawn to the trance beats of Switzerland's Shawn Tyas, as well as drum 'n' bass laid down by L.A.'s DJ Hive. A dozen local DJs will also man the mixers, including C.L. McSpadden, Robotech, Citrik, and Louder. Doors open at 8 p.m. and won't close until 4 a.m. Tickets cost $17 pre-sale at London West Records, $22 at the door before 10:30 p.m., and $26 afterwards. Visit www.myspace.com/diabloreturns.
