The intimate performance was for bar mitzvah boy Andrew Zucker, son of former NBC/Universal president and CEO, Jeff Zucker.
The newly bar mitzvahed 13-year-old was glad to have Drake, his second choice performer, on board to be part of his special day.
Drake himself was raised in a very Jewish neighborhood in Toronto and attended a Jewish day school. He even had a bar mitzvah when he was 13, as well. Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, was born to a Jewish mother.
Bar mitzvah receptions are not cheap, especially not if your dad is a big kahuna in the news and entertainment industries. Andrew's first choice performer was actually Kanye West, who wanted $1 million for the gig.
