Ear Candy Charity Teams Up with Sticky Fingers and The Moody Blues
DJ William "Fucking" Reed hasn't been spinning some glitch-hop remix of "Nights in White Satin" (not that I'm aware of at least), but both the long running Valley club night and the 60's era English progressive rock band have teamed up with AZ-based non-profit Ear Candy Charity.
Ear Candy seeks to further music education for youth, working to provide instruments to young students through used instrument drives and offering field trips to youngsters with the intent of exploring new musical ideas.
Sticky Fingers have announced that effective as of Friday, May 5, $1 of each paid attendee with be donated to Ear Candy. Sticky Fingers goes down every Friday night at Bar Smith, and May features performances from RAC, Peachcake, Are Friends Electrik, and others in addition to the normal rogues gallery of spinsters.
Sticky Fingers will continue the drive until they reach their goal of $5,000, which hopefully will deter deep V-necked dancers from scamming some way to get in for free. It's always nice to balance your debauchery with a worthy cause, right folks?
The Moody Blues will be helping out with Ear Candy's Instrument Drives to support Title 1 schools in the Phoenix area. Throughout the week of May 5-12, you can donate new or slightly used instruments to any of the eighty fire stations in Phoenix. A special collection will also take place May 12, at The Moody Blues show at Comerica Theatre.
In addition, The 'Blues will be offering two exclusive pre-show backstage VIP packages, available via online action their Moody Blues Today website.
It's exciting to see how far reaching Ear Candy's efforts have become, encompassing two very different sets of fans and uniting toward to a laudable goal. See Ear Candy's official website for more info.
And now, without further delay, here's a "White Satin" dubstep remix from Zeds Dead, complete with necessary sped up vocals, laser sounds and blippity-bloops, which any of the DJs at Sticky Fingers should feel more than welcome to drop in their set.
