Man, 7th Avenue is really going off this Friday.

First, we've got that 7th Avenue Streetscape debut.

And now, Phoenix Metro Retro is throwing a little shindig to honor a Mr. Al Beadle, one of the Valley's most acclaimed architects.

Beadle passed away about ten years ago but his work can be seen in neighborhoods across the Valley. Namely, the Paradise Gardens, which can be toured this weekend at the 6th Annual Modern Phoenix Home Tour + Expo.

Phoenix Metro Retro, a mid-century modern furniture store on 7th Avenue, is hosting a little kickoff this Friday for the weekend's events. Starting at 6 p.m., photography of Al Beadle's designs will be on display. Viewers can see images of the Safari Hotel in Scottsdale - before it was demolished, that is.

Sigh.

The First Friday celebration of Al Beadle runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Phoenix Metro Retro, 708 West Hazelwood (just west of 7th Avenue between Indian School and Camelback), www.phoenixmetroretro.com
