Goodbye, Get Out
Get Out, The East Valley Tribune's Thursday entertainment tabloid will publish for the last time on Christmas Day. Today, I finally got an e-mail with memorial details for our vanquished -- but respected -- foe of 11 years. You can click here to leave thoughts and memories.
The Trib is my former employer (and the former employer of a fair number of staffers and stringers here in the Village Voice family, including corporate level calendar boss Thomas Bond, NT staff writer and Valley Fever blogger Ray Stern and the music editor at OC Weekly, my good friend Albert Ching) so I'm a little sad to see it give up on a product that was once a top-notch competitor to New Times.
A sad day, indeed. --Martin Cizmar
