Tricky T has been part of some pretty potent P-town dance parties over the past 15 years. From his days ripping it up with Z-Trip in the late '90s at the old Green Room in Tempe to his most-recent gig at Pinky Ring Wednesdays, the Trickster most definitely knows how to get things going. So it's a bit of a shocker when the dope DJ immediately declares that his new Sunday event, Kung Pao Radio, will be nothing like those dance nights. "Its not gonna be a dance party at all," he says. "There's gonna be more of a chill-type vibe happening." Kicking off on Sunday, June 27, the night will feature Tricky T and friends providing a laid-back mix of such "basic downtempo stuff" as dubstep, underground hip-hop, and acid jazz inside the equally chill Lost Leaf, 914 North Fifth Street. Guests for the debut edition include DJ Tige and Pablo Gomez of Radio Phoenix. The music starts at 10 p.m. and there's no cover. Call 602-258-0014.
