Rapper M-Bone, part of hip-hop group Cali Swag District, died last night after an apparent drive-by shooting in his hometown of Inglewood, California.

Cali Swag District's biggest hit was 2010's "Teach Me How to Dougie." The group's debut studio album, The Kickback, was scheduled for release this year. The title track from the album was released in January.

According to a story on CNN.com, M-Bone, whose real name was Montae Talbert, was sitting in a car the 400 block of North LaBrea Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongside him. Two shots were fired from the vehicle, and struck Talbert in the head. He died later at a hospital, aged 22.

Cali Swag District representative Greg Miller told media Talbert was "a victim of a random act of violence."
