When you put your key in the ignition and turn on the radio, what station would play right now? I would've said X 103.9-FM a month ago, but now it's sports radio 910-AM in the morning, 100.7-FM for the Lunchtime Theme Park. The afternoons are spent with embarrassing Top 40 or The Beat on 92.7-FM, 99.3-FM, or 101.1-FM. Love that station.

What's the first album you bought? Love Gun by Kiss in 1977 when I was 8. I remember running around the neighborhood with the cardboard love gun. I'm sure my Mom was thrilled.

What's the first concert you saw? My Mom took me to Kenny Rogers at the Rock County 4-H Fair in Wisconsin in 1978. First "real" concert was AC/DC.

What's your favorite concert you've ever been to? The Hold Steady at the Brickhouse in 2007. Love that band, and it was the first concert I went to with my girlfriend, so there's a lot of sentimental value, too.

What's the last song played on your music player? Ryan Bingham's "The Weary Kind". There are parts of my life when it seems I'm trying to recreate Crazy Heart.

Preferred format: CD, vinyl, cassette, 8-Track or digital? I use digital the most, but I've recently gotten back into finding old favorites on vinyl thanks to my girlfriend's 16-year-old daughter Taylor. She's a good influence on me.

What's your favorite album? U2, The Unforgettable Fire, got a lot of play during college.

Who is your favorite singer or band? Anything The Rolling Stones did from 1970 to around 1984.

Does your computer track how many times you've played something -- if so, what's at the top of the list? Five different songs by My Chemical Romance. My 12-year-old daughter is a big fan. She's calls herself a "killjoy". I'm in trouble.

What was your favorite new or new-to-you album from 2011? The Black Keys and Adele.

What one song would you play if you had a world-wide radio audience? Anything by John Lennon.

Who is your favorite local artist? I've done some shows with Darkness Dear Boy in Tempe and think they are going places.

What is your favorite local venue to see music? Marquee or Sail Inn in Tempe.

What is your favorite music video? The 14-year-old in me still says Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher".
