Miniature Tigers' brand new record, Dieyan Keytan, err, Mia Pharaoh, hits stores today, and in conjunction with the band's complete takeover of Phoenix this week (see our sister blog Jackalope Ranch's post about Joe Pagac's advert-mural on Roosevelt Row, the band is performing a special acoustic gig at Stinkweeds this Thursday, March 8, before the band's headlining gig at Crescent Ballroom.

I've never been sold on the band's "blissfests" (Spin Magazine's words, not mine), but Pharaoh's tracklist is loaded with erudite, sexy pop, like the stellar "Cleopatra" and opening salvo "Sex on the Regular." It's hands down the most expressive, accomplished thing the band has put to tape -- less "cute" and more "charmingly dirty."

You can pick up the band's record at Stinkweeds and catch the acoustic set, which starts at 5 p.m. Watch the band's nearly-NSFW video for "Female Doctor," another funky gem from the record, after the break.

Miniature Tigers are scheduled to perform at Stinkweeds and then Crescent Ballroom on Thursday, March 8.
