May is shaping up to be a pretty killer month for Valley drum 'n' bass fanatics. In addition to the brand new weekly event SEEN! Wednesdays blasting out plenty of supertempo beats and jungle jams every hump day over at Coach & Willie's, a superstar-studded slate of d'n'b deities will hit the PHX when the Planet of the Drums Tour rolls into the Brickhouse Theater, 1 East Jackson Street, on Friday, May 11. Headlined by the teched-out turntablist triumvirate of Dieselboy, AK1200, and Dara, the turbo-powered tour will paint the downtown Phoenix venue with plenty of Red Bull-fueled beat-juggling laced with boffo bass, as well as the rhymes and rhythms of MC J-Messinian, who'll grab some mic time during the gig. Local DJ Jamie Jame (a.k.a. "Jamie The Junglist") is also scheduled to spin. Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission costs $20 before 11 p.m. Call 602-258-7880.
