Tyson Stevens, the lead singer of now-defunct Gilbert band Scary Kids Scaring Kids, has died in Tuscon. He was 29.
The news was first reported by Alternative Press Tuesday, October 21. Later that day, the Facebook page of Coma Prevail, Stevens' most recent band, confirmed the news.
Details have yet to emerge, but Alternative Press reported that an anonymous source said "Stevens was found dead [yesterday] morning by his girlfriend in Tucson, Arizona."
Scary Kids Scaring Kids formed in Gilbert in 2002. The members of the six-piece group were all graduates of Gilbert's Highland High School. They were quickly noticed around the valley, and by 2005, the band was playing the Vans Warped Tour. A record deal with Immortal Records followed, and later the band signed a major deal with RCA Records. After recording just two albums, the band broke up in 2009.
