Six Phoenix DJs, Including Pickster One, Named the Best in America By the Chicago Sun-Times
DJ Pickster One
It isn't any great secret that cats like Pickster One, M2, Chris Villa, and Liquid Stranger are some of the biggest and best DJs in the Valley, especially among those in the know.
After this week, however, they're also considered to be among the top DJs in the country, at least according to the folks at the Chicago Sun-Times.
All four were included in a rundown of the "Best 100 DJs in America" that was published on the newspaper's nationally focused (and BuzzFeed-like) Sun-Times Network website on Monday, as were a few other local spin kings and EDM artists with a Phoenix connection.

According to the post, editors from the site went on a quest to "find the best DJ talent" in some of the major cities across the U.S., such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Boston. They previously published specific "Best DJ" lists for each of aforementioned cities, including one for Phoenix.
Renowned LA-based selector Morse Code, Seattle's Four Color Zack, and San Francisco's Antiserum were the top three DJs on the list, respectively. Meanwhile, Pickster One (real name: Dusty Hickman) was the highest-ranking Valley resident to appear on the "Best 100 DJs in America" list, as the Blunt Club turntablist wound up at 10th place overall. The Sun-Times Network staff previously named him as the top DJ in Phoenix when that list came out in December.
Next on the "Best 100 DJs in America" list is hip-hop selector and local Red Bull Thre3style champ M2, who landed at No. 32, followed closely by Luminox, the Phoenix native and DJ/producer who's become a regular at such big festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, at No. 35.
At Dawn We Rage, the homegrown EDM ensemble of Stormy Logan and Travis Seekrits, were also honored by being included on the list at No. 69, but haven't technically been Valley residents since they relocated to L.A. within the last couple of years.
