The Faint's Todd Fink Joins Shawn Foree's Digital Leather
Digital Leather, the synthpunk brainchild of Shawn Foree, has evolved quite a bit since the Arizona musician started it as a solo project. In concert, Foree shares the stage with members of The Reatards, Destruction Unit, Lenguas Largas, The Wongs, and Lost Sounds. Digital Leather recently expanded its synth section by adding The Faint's Todd Fink to the band.
"Todd brought synth back into Digital Leather -- something that had been missing for a long time. He has helped renew my love of synths, and writing music in general," says Foree. Find out more after the jump.

Shawn Foree on how he met Todd Fink "We first met about four months ago through a mutual friend who thought we'd be great together. We met up at a Mexican food joint up the street from Todd's place and instantly just started talking about music and ideas and stuff. We went over to his place and we played around with his Moog Voyager and recorded a few things.
"We've been recording together since then. Todd brought synth back into Digital Leather -- something that had been missing for a long time. He has helped renew my love of synths, and writing music in general. I've composed as much material this year already [as] I have in the past three combined."

Digital Leather is long overdue for an Arizona performance, and it looks like it might be in the cards "Digital Leather's current itinerary includes some shows in the Midwest with Cursive," Foree says, "as well a one of our favorite rockers, The Hussy from Madison, Wisconsin. We're also doing something for NET, which is Nebraska's PBS affiliate. That should be interesting. Right now, I'm in Omaha, which I moved to from Tucson. Lived in Tempe before that.
I hope to get back to Arizona very soon. If not to play a show, at least to visit my friends and eat at the Fry Bread House!
