While I'm sure all of you are planning to spend the weekend reading biographies on our founding fathers and saluting the flag, here are a few less patriotic suggestions you may wish to employ.

Friday: First Friday

Just because it's Independence Day doesn't mean the monthly spectacle that is First Friday is taking the day off. In addition to the street market, gangs of people trying to stuff into Lost Leaf and art galleries, be sure to swing by some of these ten musical performances outlined in Benjamin Leatherman's post "Who's performing at tomorrow's First Friday art walk."

Saturday: Dark Lotus

A quick question: are you or are you not down wit da clownz?

Juggalos and Juggalettes already know the news but Insane Clown Posse is coming to town this weekend and they're bringing a few friends. Twizted and Blaze will join forces with Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent Jay to create the five member "opaque brotherhood" AKA Dark Lotus. Check them out at The Marquee Theater...if you dare.

Sunday: Adult Swim

Beat the heat this Sunday with a dip in the pool. No, not the neighborhood pool. Venture forth to Hotel San Carlos and take a swim in their roof top pool. Enjoy live DJs and a stocked bar. The best part: no kids allowed! Ha! Take that you snot-nosed brats. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta find my Spongebob floaties.
