So, the Radiohead thing felt pretty big, and Gun N' Roses was positively surreal. So try this one on for size: Van Halen, featuring David Lee Roth and the Van Halens: Eddie, Alex, and Wolfgang, are headed to US Airways Center on Saturday, June 16.
That's right. Saturday night. With Van Halen. "Eruption."

Of course, somethings feels a little weird about the reunion, like Wolfgang playing bass instead of Michael Anthony (we've touched on why that sucks here), and of course Roth's apparent choice to rock Carhartt overalls on stage, but according to Maura Johnston over at Village Voice's Sound of the City, the band's intimate gig at Cafe Wha? last night was pretty good: "Last night Van Halen tried to blow away any last traces of the rancor and bad blood that arose again and again in the years since Roth's long-ago departure for a solo career, and it mostly succeeded."
Not only that, but the band is releasing a new album, A Different Kind of Truth, featuring Roth on vocals, on Tuesday, February 7. The first single, "Tattoo," and its accompanying video will be released on Tuesday, January 10.
