Arizona's Top Baby Names Include Names Found in the Bible (and the Strip Club)
Good thing someone's been keeping track of what parents named their children last year.
The Arizona Department of Health Services released the list of the 100 most-popular baby names for boys and girls, with number one being Liam for boys (369 new Liams in 2013) and Sophia for girls (581 of 'em).
Actually, Jackson is the most popular name for boys, if you include the 161 whose parents went with the spelling of "Jaxon."
Most of the names seem to be out of the Bible or the names of celebrities, while some kids started their lives with stripper names. Consider Genesis, the 40th-most popular name for girls, both a biblical name and a good stripper name.
Other gentlemen's club-esque names in the top 100 include Layla (17th), Violet (49th), Serenity (53rd), Ruby (61st), Deliliah (a classic, at 86th), Stella, and Luna (89th, and 88th, respectively).
At 58th for girls and 90th for boys was "not named," although we assume they were named at some point.
