Cops Need Help Finding Missing 90-Year-Old

A 90-year-old Phoenix man took a drive on Monday and never came home. Now, the Phoenix Police Department wants the public's help in finding him.

Clarence Merkel was last seen around noon on Monday leaving East Grovers Avenue and North Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

He said he was going to see his wife in a nursing home and hasn't been heard from since.

Merkel has several medical conditions that require medication. He also suffers from dementia.


Merkel was last seen driving his dark purple 1999 Dodge Dakota truck with Arizona license plate 152DHJ.

He's described as 5-foot-10, 180 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair. He is likely unshaven and could be wearing glasses. He has a discoloration on his left cheek.He was last seen wearing a plaid buttoned shirt, suspenders and gray pants.
