Living with an ex is never a good idea. Living with two exes is an even worse idea -- and when you throw a meat clever into the mix, it's a recipe for disaster.
However, in the case of Daytona Johnson, her two live-in baby-daddies got along just fine, it seems; according to police, she was the problem -- she slit one of their throats and threw a Febreeze can at the other, cutting his head.
According to court documents obtained by New Times, Johnson -- who lives in her Phoenix home with two of her ex-boyfriends and children fathered by each of the men -- apparently went berserk Friday afternoon, attacking both men.
Johnson and Chad Grubbs, her live-in former boyfriend and father of at
least one of her children, were arguing in a bedroom in their home in
the 2600 block of West Dove Valley road about 4:00 p.m. Friday.
In the middle of the argument, Johnson's other live-in
ex-boyfriend, Dominick Glarruisso, entered the room and asked Johnson to
give him his cell phone. She refused, so Glarruisso took it, presumably
against Johnson's wishes.
Bad move.
Johnson went berserk -- she punched Glarruisso in the face. When Grubbs
tried to intervene, she threw a Febreeze can at his head, striking him
above the eye.
Johnson, at that point, left the two men in the room. But she came back about 10 minutes later -- armed with a meat clever.
She again argued with Grubbs, as Glarruisso encouraged him to just walk away.
Grubbs took the advice -- he started to walk towards the door to leave
the situation. Before he made it to the door, however, Johnson pulled
out the meat clever and slit his throat. According to police, she caused
a 6-inch laceration to the upper part of his neck.
Johnson left the apartment as Grubbs started to bleed out.
Glaruisso rounded up the three children who witnessed the attack, and
took Grubbs to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
Johnson was booked on three counts of aggravated assault, three counts
of assault with intent to injure, three counts of child abuse, and one
count of attempted second-degree murder.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for September 16.
