Drunk Woman Goes Berserk On Cops and Hospital Staff Because She Didn't Want to Turn Down Stereo; Zapped Twice With Taser Before Punching Nurse in Face
A Mesa woman went a little nuts-o outside of her apartment building this morning after she was asked politely by cops to turn down her stereo.
Rather than simply turning down the music -- and probably avoiding any serious criminal charges -- she threw a beer bottle, screamed at the cops, got shot with a Taser, twice, and assaulted police and employees at a hospital, to which she ultimately needed to be taken.
Again, all of those things probably could have been avoided if she simply reduced the volume.
About 2 a.m. today, Mesa police responded to an unrelated order of
protection complaint at an apartment complex at 2610 North Recker Road

While at the complex, a woman in apartment 110 told officers that the music in apartment 109 was too loud.
In the middle of the conversation with police, the woman inside apartment 109, Rachael Anne Myers, burst threw the front door of her apartment and threw a beer bottle into the parking lot. She then started screaming at officers.
Cops say she appeared extremely drunk (imagine that?), and that they asked her politely to turn down her music. She refused and continued to scream belligerently at the officers.
The police tried to calm Myers down but were unable. They tried to place her under arrest and were met with kicks and punches from the drunk woman.
After Myers scratched, head-butted, and spit on the officers, one apparently had had enough and pulled out his Taser gun.
The officer shot Myers twice, once to subdue her, and again after one of the wires from the initial shot broke.
Myers was taken to the hospital, where she continued go ballistic. In treating her, hospital staff loosened one of her restraints, and Myers punched one a nurses in the face before spitting in the face of another hospital staffer.
Myers has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on police officers and two additional charges of aggravated assault on medical staff.
