Martini Mixology: The Scottsdale Culinary Festival hosts a night of cocktails at Suede Lounge
By Aja Viafora
There was nothing sleeker than mini-dresses and not-so mini martinis Thursday night at Suede Lounge for the On the Rocks segment of the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. Ladies with long legs and black dresses packed the inside dance floor and luxurious patio for tasty cocktails from Las Vegas mixologist Michael MacDonnell. All drinks made from Absolut 100 came in flavorful concoctions such as Dirty Millionaire, Paradise Martini and Strawberry Mojitos.

The event lasted from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and had everything that defines a night out in Scottsdale: beautiful people, gourmet food and lots of liquor.
“We’re here to have a good time,” Ashley Elrick of Scottsdale said.
Attendees stopped indulging in their delicious drinks only when food was served. Cheesy penne, gourmet sandwiches and various crème puffs were available at the event. A chef was posted inside the lounge to heat up the pasta on the spot and people gathered eagerly to taste the delicacies.
The VIP couches for the super elite were cluttered with metro-sexual men and model-looking women who all coughed up $40.00 for a ticket for the night’s event. The ticket entrance bought three drinks and free appetizers served by the ultra-sexy staff of waitresses and bartenders who might as well have been part of the crowd. They were dressed just as sexy and were just as social as the paying patrons.
“An environment like this has beautiful, beautiful people,” attendee Denard Stewart of Mississippi said.
