Mesa Man Gets Naked, Covers Self in Bug Spray to Throw (Imaginary) Police Dog Off His Scent
A Mesa man who was found completely naked and covered in both Off! insect-repellent and Raid insecticide told police he was just trying to throw the police dog off his scent.
Have we mentioned yet that there was no police dog?
According to court documents obtained by New Times, Raymon Collier, 20, had been trespassing at a condominium complex near County Club Drive and U.S. 60, but a property manager had to call police two days in a row after finding Collier inside one of the condos.
The owner of the condo was called, and he confirmed that he had not been at the residence and no one was allowed in there.

The owner gave a key to the police, who announced to Collier that they were coming in.
That's when they found Collier buck naked and covered in pesticides and insect repellent.
The probable-cause statement.
Later, court documents provided a possible cause for this ingenious dog-repellent plan.
"[Collier] was rambling strange things and appeared to be under the influence of illicit drugs," the probable-cause statement says.
Collier was booked into jail on a felony criminal-trespassing charge.
