Naked Necro-Dancer Prances Around Mesa Cemetery in what Police Call "Erratic Lunatic Behavior"
Dancing naked in a cemetery in the middle of the night might seem like some sort of necromancy or part of a satanic ritual. But naked cemetery dancing at 11 a.m. on a weekday -- like what 24-year-old Kara Rene Mitchell was allegedly doing -- that's what the cops call "erratic lunatic behavior with no regards for rules or decency."
While people were mourning the dead and customers were shopping for plots at the Mesa City Cemetery on Friday, they happened to notice Mitchell take off her top and dance around, according to court documents obtained by New Times.
But what's the fun in being half-naked in a cemetery when you can be completely naked in a cemetery?
That's probably what Mitchell was thinking when police say she then dropped her pants, "and continued spinning and waving her arms while totally nude."
After doing that whole business, Mitchell put her clothes back on and sat in front of the cemetery's office -- talking to herself.
Mitchell wandered around some more and eventually landed in a golf cart before Mesa police showed up and arrested her.
Police say Mitchell was under the influence of alcohol or drugs but weren't more specific.
Apparently the cemetery is full of stiffs, because two supervisors at the burial grounds say they will assist in Mitchell's prosecution.
No children were present when the "egregious nudity" occurred, but police say Mitchell "needs to be secured to prevent victimizing children," according to court documents.
Mitchell faces misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and soliciting sex in public.
