The Phoenix Suns dropped to 12-17 on the season Tuesday as the Denver Nuggets handed the Suns a 109-92 road loss. The Suns aren't that good this season, obviously, and without Grant Hill and, especially, Steve Nash in the lineup, you can pretty much forget about winning.
The Suns took 99 shots from the field and made a mere 33 of them. It's tough to win with a 33 percent field goal percent -- especially when the opponent shoots 51 percent from the field.
With Nash and Hill getting the night off, the scoring door was open for some other Suns. On Tuesday, Markieff Morris scored 21 points and Michael Redd scored 20. Marcin Gortat added 10 points to his 14-rebound night.
The Suns will complete their first back-to-back-to-back series of the shortened season tonight when they host the Atlanta Hawks, whom they beat in Atlanta just nine days ago. Tip-off is 7 p.m. at US Airways Center. Radio: KTAR 620 AM. TV: Fox Sports Arizona. More info: www.suns.com.
