Republican Legislator Bob Thorpe's Tweets About Black People in Is It Racist?
Thorpe's now-locked account.
Republican Representative Bob Thorpe has a thing or two (or three) to say about black people, and none of its too pretty.
But, were the remarks racist?
The one that caught people's attention was suggesting that Attorney General Eric Holder wants reform of some drug-related prison sentences just to let his fellow black people out of prison.
That was apparently discovered by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Fred DuVal, but several Democrats in the legislature responded to Thorpe's tweets -- and not in the happiest of ways.
Elsewhere on Thorpe's Twitter account -- which is now blocked from public view -- he defends the controversial rodeo clown in an Obama mask, and makes another comment about some "blacks."
Let's take a vote: are the tweets racist?
