Tempe Man Goes Missing After Walk Along Canal Path
Tempe police are asking the public's help in tracking down a 47-year-old man who was last seen yesterday morning before going for a walk on a canal path.
Jeff Allen Ahlers, 47, of Tempe, was last seen around 6 a.m. yesterday as he left his house in the 4800 block of South La Rosa Drive for his morning walk.
Ahlers, Tempe police say, never returned home.
Tempe police Sergeant Steve Carbajal tells New Times Ahlers often walked along canal paths near his home and that there was nothing out of the ordinary about his behavior before his disappearance.

Carbajal says Ahlers has a good relationship with his family and spent his time doing volunteer work with his wife, which Carbajal says was also going well.
With nothing in his personal life seeming to be out of the ordinary, Carbajal says it is not typical for Ahlers to vanish without telling anyone.
Police don't suspect foul play at the moment but want to be sure he didn't accidentally fall in the canal or suffer any other type of accident.
Ahlers was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a blue polo shirt, and black/white tennis shoes.
Ahlers is described as being about 6-feet-tall, 190 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes. Check out his photo above.
Anyone with information about Ahlers' whereabouts is asked to call the Tempe Police Department.
