Although hes already won a Grammy, remixed such folks as Madonna and the Rolling Stones, and sold out dance clubs around the world, superstar spinster Ali Shirazinia (a.k.a. Dubfire) aint about to rest on his laurels just yet. The Iranian-born turntablist, who serves as one half of DJ duo Deep Dish, has been too busy rocking the recent Winter Music Conference in Miami and touring in support of GU31: Dubfire Taipei, his contribution to the legendary Global Underground series of progressive house mixes. On the two-disc compilation, Shirazinia deftly moves from the mellow ambient chill of more subdued entries, like a remix of Francois DuBois I Try, to the more bombastic beat-juggling interpretations of Nitzer Ebbs Control Im Here and Depeche Modes Everything Counts. Witness Dubfires skills for yourself when he visits Axis/Radius, 7340 East Indian Plaza in Scottsdale, on Wednesday, April 11. DJs Paolo Mojo and Kevin Brown share the bill. Doors open at 9 p.m., with a $10 cover....
