Bond's a printmaker, photographer and "assemblagist" meaning he's good at finding things and putting them together to make something else. He says his goal is to address space and time in relation to the viewer through his work and multi-media installations.

The Oklahoma native moved to Phoenix to get his masters in printmaking from ASU. He stuck around to teach intaglio, relief and screen printing as well as a course in relief printmaking held in Cuernavaca, Mexico. He's currently the studio manager/master printer for Santo Press and Tiny Satellite Press in Scottsdale and Segura Publishing Company in Tempe. He says this about his work:

"While seduced by process-based arts such as printmaking, photography, and video I constantly search for moments of spontaneity, which allow for visual freshness and personal growth. Experimentation with materials, processes, and formats helps me to counter a narrow comfort zone too readily accepted by many artists."

Read more about Bond and his current projects after the jump ...

1. List five things on your Inspiration Wall (real or imagined)? Pictures of: - Dante, my 10 year-old son - Veronica my pregnant wife (w/ son to be Nico) - Our "retirement" house and studio in the mountains of Cuernavaca Mexico - And box sets of Ray Charles and Johnny Cash CDs

2. What's your last big project? The complete restoration of a 50 year-old Vandercook printing press, I affectionately named Victoria, and the subsequent founding of Santo Press, a fine art publishing company specializing in limited edition relief prints by regionally and nationally recognized artists.

3. What's your next big project?

A LARGE body of small monoprints.

[He's also showing with Donna Atwood in a two person print and photographic exhibition called "Latinophiles," which celebrates the influence of Mexican culture on the arts in the Southwest. The opening reception is Sept. 17 at the Cathedral Center for the Arts, 100 W Roosevelt St. from 6 to 9:30 p.m..]

4. Why do you do what you do? It's somewhat like breathing, I feel sick if I don't. It challenges, frustrates, rewards, surprises, enlightens, entertains, and fulfills.

5. What's something you want Phoenix to know about you? I'm currently taking orders for private commissions and I'm available for birthday parties and Bar Mitzvahs. (And, if you're game, what's something you really don't want Phoenix to know about you?) I had a third nipple removed and then replaced when I missed it and I occasionally make up answers to strange questions.
