Looks like Actors Theatre's couch-surfing days are officially over (for now, anyways). The local theater troupe, which spent its 2013-14 season bouncing around between different Valley venues, announced in a press release on Friday, July 25, that not only would it premièring four new plays during the 2014-15 season, three of which are written by female playwrights, but also that all performances would be consistently staged at Black Theatre Troupe's Helen K. Mason Performing Arts Center.

Kicking off Actors Theatre's 2014-15 season will be Theresa Rebeck's Seminar, a Broadway comedy about a literary figure whose unorthodox teaching methods cause four aspiring writers to learn, love, and lose. Seminar runs Friday, October 24, through Sunday, November 9.
Next in the lineup of shiny new stage works will be Sharr White's Annapurna, a trailer park-set tale about the longevity of love, playing Friday, January 16, through Sunday, February 1.
Actors Theatre will then turn to Sara Ruhl's Stage Kiss Friday, March 13, through Sunday March 29. Stage Kiss, which is the third Ruhl play used by Actors Theatre following the production of Dead Man's Cell Phone and In the Next Room, illustrates the blurred line between life and art with the question of who's imitating whom in a 1930s melodrama.
Capping off the season of new works will be Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking with unset dates in May. This one-woman play is a dramatic adaptation of the New York Times bestselling memoir.
