If you're looking to fund your organization's latest creative idea or to participate in a variety of grant opportunities in Arizona, take notes: The Arizona Commission on the Arts will be hosting a series of workshops in January and February.

The Arts Commission gives a number of community grants each year to organizations and schools. And to spread the word about the upcoming cycle of grant opportunities, it will bring in staff members along with Lora Gordon from Cultural Data Project and Lynn Tuttle from the Arizona Department of Education.

According to the Arts Commission, the workshops will include information sessions and grant-writing guidance about funding opportunities from the Arts Commission, as well as workshops with the Arizona Cultural Data Project, and Common Core.

The Arizona Cultural Data Project is described by Arts Commission as an "online management tool that allows arts and cultural organizations to understand and analyze their financial performance" and is recommended for representatives of arts and cultural organizations and applicants to the Arts Commission's Community Investment Grants program. Workshops that cover grant opportunities as well as Cultural Data Project training will be held in Tempe on January 7, Tucson on January 8, Flagstaff on January 9, Prescott on January 10, and Phoenix on January 10.

Common Core workshops will connect the dots between art, literacy, and numeracy, and are recommended for arts educators, and education-based teaching artists. Workshops on grant opportunities and Common Core will take place in Bullhead City on January 22, Kingman on January 23, and Yuma on January 30.

The deadline for all Arts Commission Community grants is March 21, 2013. For more information about the workshops, including registration, grant opportunities, and more details, check out the Arizona Commission on the Arts website.
