It's easy to be a cynic these days. It's as if the unrelenting assault of negativity that characterizes television news has thrust its way into every imaginable medium so that not even the craftiest curmudgeon can elude its reach. If only there were an elixir, a fix for the soul. Well if there's any truth to the idea that beholding something splendorous can awaken the most jaded of hearts, then Bella Gaia might just be that elixir. A stunning work of multimedia entertainment, Bella Gaia combines breathtaking satellite images of Earth, dance, and a live musical score to provide audiences with an awe-inspiring journey around our planet. The performance is not only exceedingly beautiful, it also serves as a poignant reminder of our planet's finiteness and the pressing need for its citizens to be good stewards of its resources.

Bella Gaia comes to the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 North Arizona Avenue, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28. Tickets start at $32. Visit www.chandlercenter.org or call 480-782-2683 for details.
