It’s time for a meat and greet. The Fifth Annual Arizona BBQ Festival is cooking up a full day of games and grub, serving up smoked savories such as brisket, chicken, ribs, and pulled pork, as well as sides and drinks from vendors like Honey Bears BBQ, Little Miss BBQ, Bootleggers, and more. The rest of the day’s festivities will be filled with wrestling, live musical, chef demos, and redneck-themed events including watermelon seed spitting, bobbing for pigs feet, hub cap hurling, a mullet beauty pageant and a Daisy Dukes and cowboy boots pageant.
The Arizona BBQ Festival returns Saturday, April 5, to Salt River Fields, 7555 North Pima Road, Scottsdale. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $60 to $75 for VIP. Gates open at 11 a.m., and the festival runs until 8 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets in advance, visit www.azbbqfestival.com or call 480-270-5102.
