The third annual Grand Avenue Festival takes over the Downtown street and its artsy outposts on Saturday, October 22, from 3 to 11 p.m.
Attractions include art exhibitions, a recycled fashion show, a self-guided mural tour, and commercial building tours.
To make it all go off without a hitch, festival organizers are looking for creative projects from local artists and volunteers to help out with gallery sitting, neighborhood tours, and coordinating the handful of events slated for the weekend.

Two-hour shifts are available from 1 to 11 p.m. the day of the
streetwide celebration. Those interested in volunteering should contact

Kooky Krafts also put out a call for art entries for the shop's "Hanging Gardens & Woven Fences & Trashy Sculpture" project. Entering is free and artists are encouraged to incorporate recycled materials into their pieces.
Applicants' works will be displayed at various locations on Grand Avenue. More info here.
The Untrashed Recycled Fashion Show is accepting entries until October 15. Designer entrants are to use recycled materials (like grocery bags or cardboard) and morph them into runway outfits. The looks will be modeled at Bragg's Pie Factory the evening of the festival. Check out the entry form here.
