This idea came from one of those Pinterest pins that offer you the entire tutorial all at once. Check it out. It's been on my list for a while, but was afraid to ruin a nice piece of art. I finally realized that I could use an abandoned collage I made a couple of years ago.

Supplies: painted canvas - anything works vinyl letters - I found them at Target for about $3 acrylic paint in desired color - I used "Sea Lavender" by Martha Stewart paint brush an awesome quote

Arrange the words onto your painting/background. The vinyl letters are repositionable so don't worry too much about getting it perfect right away.

Pour paint all over your picture. Spread the paint.

Wait for it to dry completely, then peel the letters off. Because I was using a collage and not a painting (as recommeded in the tutorial) I had a little trouble with the paint peeling off with the vinyl letters. An x-acto knife in hand helps with this, should you have the same issue.

MAGIC!

Definitely visit the creator of the original tutorial, A Beautiful Mess, for extra inspiration regarding this project.
