We hate to break it to you, Valley vintage enthusiasts with an eye for international style, but Vintage by Misty soon will close up its downtown Phoenix shop. But it's not goodbye; not even close. VBM will relocate to a new space in Old Town Scottsdale, where the store will continue carrying the gypset-inspired wares that owner Misty Guerriero Navon is famed for, and her outpost at Nové will remain, too.

The Phoenix shop will remain open through September 23. And Guerriero Navon says that shoppers can expect to see deep discounts on the store's merchandise, as she'd like to sell off as much of it as possible before opening her new location. Sale items will be marked from 30 percent to 70 percent off.
"As much as I was debating about it -- because I love being a part of downtown -- I've just had a couple instances of vandalism there," Guerriero Navon says of her decision to move. "It's kind of unfortunate, but I found a really great location."
The new store is at 7046 East Fifth Avenue in Scottsdale. Guerriero Navon says she plans to have it open for business on Tuesday, October 1.
With floor-to-ceiling windows, about 1,300 square feet, and a sleek, contemporary vibe, the new VBM will be more of a showroom than its boutique predecessor.
Furniture will be for sale, including French, Midcentury Modern, and Asian pieces. Home wares like vintage pillows will cost an estimated $50, while larger furnishings like settees will cost around $1,000. "I'm trying to make it middle-range price points," she says. Other items for sale will be art, textiles, coffee table books, soaps, and candles.
As far as clothing, the store will include four racks of wearables that will change out every month to keep the shop on-trend, seasonally chic, and fresh. Price points for clothing and accessories will remain the same as they have been at VBM's other locations. Because the clothing will be seasonal, she says that she'll be very focused on the housewares and accessories.
Guerriero Navon doesn't rule out an eventual return to Phoenix, as she hopes to host a few pop-up shops downtown in the near future. But for now, Scottsdale is a better fit for her business, she says, thanks to its draw of tourists and locals, and the fact that the new location is along Scottsdale's art walk.
