- Benjamin Phillips @ eyelounge Gallery
The most recent sculptural and drawing work of ASU student Benjamin Phillips. Read more about Phillips' process here and check out his show tonight.at eyelounge, 419 East Roosevelt St..
- Grand Opening @ Cade Gallery and Old School Arcade
Nathan Nelson Ross and Weston Henry bring their art and arcade games together under one roof. In our interview with Ross and Henry earlier this month, the duo said they hope the gallery will be a cool place to see some art, and stick around. Cade's at 722 N 4th St in Phoenix. - Indian Ink II @ Pravus Gallery
Thomas "Breeze" Marcus and Douglas Miles open their co-curated show, Indian Ink II, which Breeze says will feature a number of selected emerging Native American artists whose
works "push out and ascend above the boundaries of stereotypical, traditional,
and "contemporary" Native American art." Check out the show, which promises a live mural installation and opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pravus, 501 E. Roosevelt. For more information, check out the Pravus website.
- Assorted works @ Jamie Peachey Photography
Local photographer (and frequent New Times contributor) Jamie Peachey, snatched up a gallery space on Seventh Street and is opening for his first show tonight. The exhibition will feature photographic work by Peachey and watercolor work by a variety of artists. Peachey says there will also be a kids corner with select work by children and a spot for fun, free portrait shots. Check out the show starting at 7 p.m. and the new spot at
- If you missed it, our sixth jackalope limited edition sticker, designed by Sebastien Millon, will be making its debut tonight! Find a few at each location marked with a star on the map.
- To embrace the shenanigans, check out the live music and art at Revolver Records on Roosevelt Street (it's where Millon will be selling artwork and apparel), at Bliss ReBar, at Bikini Lounge on Grand Avenue and all over Heritage Square.
- To avoid the shenanigans, go early (galleries usually open around 5 p.m.) and peace out before the Beiber haircuts and break dancing take the streets.
-- The Phoenix Art Museum has great parking (and great art, go figure) and
free event shuttles sponsored by Artlink, Inc. to various areas
throughout downtown including Roosevelt Row. Route maps are available at
the Museum. On-street parking is limited along Roosevelt Street between
1st Street and 7th Street (Note: meters downtown are still checked
until 8 p.m.). Or if you can nab a spot, check out the free street
parking on Grand Avenue ...
