Like any celebrity, Food Network chef Giada De Laurentiis gets grief for being who she is: the granddaughter of a legendary film director (not her fault -- she has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and doesn't even like being in front of a camera) and a genuine Italian person (which is why she pronounces Italian words that way). Got a problem with the food? Yeah, didn't think so. So get off her tiny little back.

De Laurentiis' spankin'-new book, Weeknights with Giada: Quick and Simple Recipes to Revamp Dinner, will help you (or your designed cook) fix a yummy meal in about half an hour or less. That makes any day better. Thank her in person at the Kierland Commons location of Sur La Table. A Q&A session in the courtyard starts at 11:30 a.m., moving to the store at noon for book-signing.
