Jerry Seinfeld has so irreversibly permeated pop culture with his affection for life's "nothing" moments and mimicable intonations that it's hard for us to imagine he's anything but an apartment-dwelling, cereal-loving, serial dater and detail-obsessive. The thought of seeing him in person, on a stage, delivering jokes that are neither plot-relevant nor sandwiched by conversations with Elaine Benes and interruptions from Cosmo Kramer is a little too out-there for out TV-addled minds to comprehend.

Nevertheless, the real, actual Seinfeld will be on Comerica Theatre's real-life stage on Saturday, September 22. And, as much as it may seem like worlds (real and TV set) are colliding, we think it'll probably make for a worthwhile experience. After all, we won't be the ones sacrificing a piece of our personality (What would we do without Bawdy George?). Instead, it'll be Seinfeld breaking from his familiar mold when he performs at 400 West Washington Street at 7 p.m.
