The weekend before All Hallows Eve usually means one thing: Parties, and plenty of 'em. For proof, look no further than the annual Halloween nightlife and drinking guide, which pimps dozens of Halloween events at clubs throughout the Valley.

There's more than just drinkathons and costume contests going on at your neighborhood tavern during Halloweekend, however, as a few off-the-radar and underground parties taking place that only a select few know about.

We've plumbed the depths of both Facebook and the Interwebs and have the lowdown on some of the events happening on the down-low.

Goosebumps: A Night in Terror Tower @ Madison Event Center:
Millions of kids spent their childhood getting thrills and chills from R.L. Stine's long-running series of scary novels, including the promoters of this underground Halloween event.

The spirit of Stein's tomes will be celebrated in grand fashion on Friday as colorfully dressed attendees dance and debauch late into the night while dance music is blasted and vendors sell glowing accessories aplenty. 7 p.m.; $15 with costume before 9 p.m., $20 thereafter. (Click here for details).

Halloween Happening @ ICYC:
You'll need more than cash to get into this after-hours event on Friday at the Inner City Youth Center, as a specific password in required for entry.

Those who can gain access into ICYC's spray-painted interior, however, will witness a furious fiesta of "hella smoke machines," costumed shenanigans, ribald revelry, and "beats on wax." There will also be performances starring Mess & *Phetamine (who typically wear football pads and man-panties when performing), Djentrification, and other madcap miscreants. 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.; $2-$5. (Click here for more info.)

Bellevue Manor @ The Party Oasis:

You'll have to jump through a hoop or two to get into this secretive adults-only mansion party taking place at a palatial estate in Scottsdale.

First off, it's for "open-minded" couples only. Second, attendees are required to meet at a separate parking area where they will take a party bus to the event. The event itself will feature performances by the Aerial Intensity dance troupe, DJs, and more. 8 p.m.-3 a.m., $100. (Click here for tickets and details.)

Trick or Beatz @ TBA:
Costumes and candy are a big part of underground dance events, which is why raves seem like a natural fit for Halloween. Hence the many raves taking place this coming weekend, including this off-the-radar event that will likely occur at a warehouse venue somewhere in the Phoenix sprawl.

Flock Production's annual Trick or Beatz event on Saturday is one of the biggest and will offer two stages of DJ talent, as well as light shows, a costume contest, and other activities. 8 p.m.; $15 with costume, $20 without. Call 602-919-2327 on the night of the event for location info.
