We clued into what Holy Piñata creatives Danny Stoeller and Andy Brooks were up to about a year ago when they were selling a series of "I Cactus PHX" tees.
Their goal was (and still is) to get Phoenicians to "officially proclaim [their] love for the capital," which was (and sometimes still is) a tough sell in the triple-digit heat of May. Luckily, PHX couldn't resist.
In a year, the two have added an "I Pine tree FLG" (for Flagstaff), and just released a collaboration tee with Phoenix-based artist Jason Hill:
"I Westward Ho PHX"
Hill's known for his iconic designs and images of Phoenix architecture and neighborhoods; Holy Piñata's known for imagining, designing, and producing all of its goods in the Valley.
We're just happy they found each other.
Two dollars of each "I Cactus PHX" or "I Westward Ho PHX" purchase can be donated to one of three local-based
charities, including Desert Botanical Garden, Florence Crittenton and Phoenix Children's Hospital. (Ten percent of every "I Pinetree FLG" sale goes to Second Chance Center for Animals in Flagstaff).
The Piñata/Hill collaborations are $25 each and come in an assortment of colors "befitting a gelato bar," write Stoeller and Brooks, (quick translation: pink,
grass, baby blue, lemon, and red) in addition to classic black and white.
And you can snag one or two for purchase online, at the Phoenix Art Museum gift shop, the Desert Botanical gift shop or Retro Ranch.
