Twice a year, Ignite Phoenix presents a series of talks by local individuals whose hobbies, skills, and experiences range anywhere from live body painting and karate to pairing books with wine and restoring historic motel signs.
Each speaker is allotted five minutes with a 20-slide presentation. Interested applicants must be able to speak in front of a large crowd, attend a two-hour training session on presenting, and avoid R-rated material and sales pitches. First and foremost, they must submit an application by Friday, March 28.
Applications are available on www.ignitephoenix.com and require a talk title, talk description, brief bio, social media handles, and contact information. Judging will take place a week after the submission deadline, and tickets to the event will go on sale Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m.
