The economy sucks. Your house is worth half what it was when you bought it. Your 401k has been bludgeoned to within an inch of its life. You need more laughs.

Toward that end, Herberger Theater Center is hosting the Phoenix Improv Festival, a three-day event packed with shows, workshops, and networking for people who like to deliver yuks by winging it and for those who appreciate winged yuks. Improv groups and single performers from all over the country will showcase their ability to ad-lib, while short-form troupes perform improv games, experimental troupes present longer, scene-based work, and fully improvised musicals and films strut their stuff. A festival highlight is the scheduled performance by Hollywood’s WeirDass, featuring MADtv alum Stephnie Weir.
