We've asked this question to the folks around town who rock vintage threads but what about someone who, you know, doesn't wear things other people have sweat in before?
Lauren Hart, owner of the Root Salon in central Phoenix, certainly fits the bill (speaking of bills, we cringe to think of her monthly shopping expenses). The busy independent business owner (who was recently featured in Inc. Magazine) knows that being in the beauty business means, well, you've gotta be beautiful.
While she certainly has no problem doing that on her own, Hart relies on her keen fashion sense to really drive the point home.
What are you wearing right now?
Saint Grace wide legged yoga pants and a Michael Stars metallic tank.
What is the last item of clothing
you bought?
A blue silk BCBG poet blouse and dark blue leggings.
(More after the jump).
What is the item of clothing you most covet at the
moment?
A Tory Birch Red patten leather tote.
Give us a childhood memory of you and clothes:
I have this dear picture of me in a "Jackie O" mint green swing-coat,
patent leather shoes and hand bag resting perfectly in my poised elbow
-- white hat and gloves. I was three! Enough said.
Name
five items every woman should have in her closet:
Slim crystal metallic Havaianas, Diana Von Furstenberg "Anina" parachute
dress in navy, Ralph Lauren cotton hat, Michael Kors white spaghetti
strap bathing suit, and beige lace La Perla lingerie.
Name
an item of clothing that's best when it's vintage:
I typically do not wear used clothing. However, a Chanel "little black
dress" would be hard to resist.
Name an item
of clothing you should NEVER buy used:
Size 22 leopard print thong bikini bottoms.
What is your one piece of
fashion advice for Phoenix?
Get a good haircut and shiny hair color as it can be your most important
fashion investment appropriate for any occasion.
(Full Disclosure: Lilia Menconi is a client and friend of Lauren Hart).
