There are two major reasons to see the latest exhibition at Scottsdale's Lisa Sette Gallery. First: It features new works be Phoenix artist Carrie Marill, whose shows are never to be missed. Second: It's the last show to open at the longtime location of Lisa Sette before its owner and namesake relocates the renowned gallery to midtown Phoenix.

It's a little funny, then, that this new showing of paintings from Marill, “Domesticated,” examines her hectic home life. The works, including the at once chaotic and calming Calder Crowd, draw inspiration from abstract expressionist Philip Guston and still-life painter Giogrio Morandi, she says in a release. She's working through the endless messiness of daily life with a family. Sette, meanwhile, will uproot her gallery after 28 years at 4142 North Marshall Way and make a new home for it in an Al Beadle building near Second Street and Thomas Road this summer.

See “Domesticated” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 10. The exhibition is on view through Saturday, May 17. Admission is free. Visit www.lisasettegallery.com or call 480-990-7432.

Thursdays, 7-9 p.m.; Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: April 3. Continues through May 17, 2014
