Investigative journalist and former New Times staff writer Lisa Davis is coming back to town with her latest project, The Sins of Brother Curtis: A Story of Betrayal, Conviction, and the Mormon Church.

In her book, Davis tells the true story of Seattle-based lawyer Tim Kosnoff arguing the case of a young man who claims to have been molested by Frank Curtis, a Mormon Sunday school teacher with a long, violent rap sheet and a trusting community.

What begins as a case of a single plaintiff in one town, Davis writes, turns into a national case with a complex list of victims. And as the case continues, Kosnoff finds his small legal team matched against the well-funded attorneys of the Mormon Church.

Davis will be at Changing Hands bookstore in Tempe on March 22 to answer questions and sign copies of her book, which will be released on March 15. The event starts at 7 p.m.. For more information, visit the Changing Hands website
