This week teen tennis stars will have the chance to take their net-side skills to the national level, including Phoenix's own Madison Clarke.
The Xavier College Preparatory junior will be joining 127 other young promising athletes representing 33 states as they compete for the title of the first-ever New Balance High School Tennis Championship presented by the United States Tennis Association (UTSA), Monday, July 21, through Thursday, July 24, at Harvard University's Beren Tennis Center.
For those who have followed Clarke's high school athletic career, her spot in the national championship may not come as much of a surprise. The Phoenix native has won the American Family Insurance Arizona high school girls tennis player of the year award for two years running and consecutive state championships for the Xavier team, including the state singles title at the 2014 Arizona State Tennis Tournament.
