Juanito Garcia is on the rebound. Earlier this year, the 21-year-old Valley boxer (pictured) had a perfect 14-0 career record and the WBC’s super featherweight youth championship wrapped firmly around his waist. Then he fought Cornelius Lock. A fierce left hook by the Detroit pugilist KO’d our hometown hero during the fourth round of their contest back in March, robbing Garcia of both the title and his undefeated streak. Juanito attempts to bounce back when he battles Jose Hernandez (9-1, three knockouts) at the so-called “Rumble at the River.” The event also features six other fights, including local boy Erick “Dynamite” Vega facing off against an undetermined opponent in the co-main event.
