Although a trip to Scottsdale Quarter's newest shopping destination will inspire desires to snuggle up with a glass of wine and a big book, you'll have to thwart that impulse. There's far too much to see at Restoration Hardware luxury home goods concept store The Gallery, which opens Friday, November 9.

With three floors and more than 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor retail space, the shop is styled as a Tuscan villa, complete with eight-foot wrought iron gates a the entrance, Heritage Olive Trees, and a rooftop garden and conservatory with panoramic views. The collaborative design is the product of architects Howard Backen and Jim Gillam of Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects, and Gary Friedman, Restoration Hardware's creator and curator.

Naturally, we found plenty of covetable items while taking in the scenery and, floor-by-floor, getting lost in the nooks and details, from chandeliers enclosed in birdcages, massive metropolitan maps, and flickering candles to potted agave arrangements and stately leather couches.

It's hard to narrow down favorites in a shop that's full of wall-to-wall wants, but we managed to pick three favorite things spotted at The Gallery. The first of our must-haves is a cable knit throw ($229), pictured at left, perfect for draping over a couch or burrowing into with some ho-cho. Then there's the vintage imperial clawfoot tub ($5495), which will haunt our dreams for bathtime eternity. Finallly we have a more budget-conscious pick, Contemporary Living ($95), a book chock-full of drool-worthy décor.

To peruse these goods and more, visit The Gallery at Scottsdale Quarter, open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. For more information, call 480-658-1201.
